Trail n. 8 Campo Carlo Magno - Malga Mondifrà - snowshoeing itinerary
An easy outing for the whole family through the Campo Carlo Magno ski area for alpine and cross-country skiing.
This itinerary, of insignificant elevation gain, is out in the open and, for the most part, beyond the woods, so it is exposed to sunlight throughout the day.
Malga Mondifrà is in a tranquil setting overlooking the cross-country trails and is a great sport for a relaxing break as you enjoy a hot beverage or local alpine delicacies.
Author’s recommendation
If you would like to give cross-country skiing a try, you may rent equipment and take lessons at the nearby Campo Carlo Magno cross-country skiing center.
Families with young children will want to bring a sled for the snowy hills near Campo Carlo Magno Pass.

Important: Sections of the itinerary run along cross-country skiing trails and, to some extent, alpine skiing runs. We recommend you keep to the edges of the trail to not hinder oncoming skiers.
Experience walking along irregular mountain trails is recommended. In the event of fresh snow, snowshoes are also recommended. Be careful of ice when temperatures are particularly low. As you might imagine, the accessibility of these mountain trails depends entirely on the conditions found at any given time, such as the weather and other natural and environmental conditions. Therefore, before you set out, you should check the status of the trail by contacting alpine guides, lodge operators, or the local tourist office or park information office.

Public transport
Served by the Madonna di Campiglio Skibus (Grostè cablecar stop) or the Trentino Trasporti bus line (Grostè cablecar stop).
Getting there
Reach loc. Fortini near the Grostè cableway, 1 km northwards Madonna di Campiglio along the main road SS239. To reach the cableway coming from Pinzolo, take the tunnel at the beginning of Madonna di Campiglio - avoiding the centre of the village - and go on towards Campo Carlo Magno for about 1 k after the tunnel exit. Coming from Dimaro, instead, pass Campo Carlo Magno and, after about 800 meters, arrive at the Grostè cableway.
