This snowy itinerary along the tree line features a truly stunning panorama. The trail runs from Monte Spinale along a false flat that gets lots of sunlight throughout the day and takes you to Rifugio Boch. Here, you will find the ski runs and the intermediate station of the Grostè gondola lift, which may be used for the return trip.

Author’s recommendation

Rest areas with food services: Chalet Fiat and Rifugio Boch

For the return trip to Madonna di Campiglio, you can take the Grostè gondola lift at the intermediate station or ski down along the nearby ski run.

Safety information

Important: Sections of the itinerary run along the  alpine skiing runs. We recommend you keep to the edges of the trail to not hinder oncoming skiers.

Experience walking along irregular mountain trails is recommended. In the event of fresh snow, snowshoes are also recommended. Be careful of ice when temperatures are particularly low. As you might imagine, the accessibility of these mountain trails depends entirely on the conditions found at any given time, such as the weather and other natural and environmental conditions. Therefore, before you set out, you should check the status of the trail by contacting alpine guides, lodge operators, or the local tourist office or park information office.

Destination

Intermediate station of the Grostè cable car

Turn-by-turn directions

From Madonna di Campiglio take the Spinale cable car to the top of Monte Spinale. From the Rifugio Dosson (Chalet Fiat) go down eastwards alongside the ski slope for about 300m, where descending gradually rightwards you reach the dell below (15 min). Continue trending south following a section in common with route 10, reaching Lago Spinale and then, beyond that, Campo Centener, 2.080m (25 min). From here turn left and head north across the big flat zone, descending a slight ridge towards the Grostè ski area. After a few dozen meters of descent a ground leads to the forestry road normally used by tracked service vehicles. A short slightly rising section leads to the intermediate station of the Grostè cable car, 2.070m (20 min). To return to Madonna di Campiglio follow the same route backwards, or descend in the cable car to Fortini.
