There are no places offering refreshment between the starting point and the mountain hut. Although water is to be found throughout the route (rivers, springs, etc.), don’t forget to set out with a suitable supply of food and beverages.

From the parking area in Val Borzago (Pian della Sega 1250 m), you walk along trail 213.
After following the mule track, you reach Malga Coel di Pelugo (1440 m - cableway start).
You continue along the trail that climbs in a landscape characterised by cliffs and granite ridges, towering above rivers and numerous waterfalls.
The track, always clearly visible and well-marked, continues to gain elevation with steep bends.
You reach a small bridge where the path comes to a fork. Here you turn left, continuing to follow trail 213 towards Rif. Carè Alto.
You climb to the Malga Zucal plateau at an elevation of 1507 m. Without reaching the mountain dairy, you continue to climb along trail 213 and, after a long but gratifying walk, you reach the mountain hut.
To return, you follow the same route backwards.
By road
SS239 della Val Rendena. In Borzago, you turn, following directions for Val di Borzago (signs for Rifugio Carè Alto). You climb to the end of the road in Pian della Sega localityParking
