A route, in the Adamello Brenta Geopark, for discovering the most suggestive waterfalls of Val Genova, alongside the river between conifer woods and little wooden bridges. Once you reach the Nardis waterfalls, which you can see from the road, leave your car in front of the "Cascate Nardis" refuge. The route starts on the right side of the refuge, at the end of the bridge, near the Sarca river. The soft ups and downs make it a path suitable to everybody. The route becomes shortest starting from the Ponte Rosso, just after the Fontana Bona refuge. In this case, after parking in the wide car park near the bridge, cross the bridge and take the path no. 214, which in about 15-20 minutes, lead to the roaring waterfalls. The lawns of Malga Genova area perfect area for a picnic break. The Lares waterfalls are a fascinating show for the impressive roar and the foaming waterfalls.
Author’s recommendation
The pastures of Malga Genova are perfect for outdoor playing and picnic breaks. Remember that, in the periods of low season, some refuges are closed and there is not any kind of transportation.
Cross the bridge in front of the impressive "Nardis Falls", with their impressive vertical jump of more than 130 meters. Take the path, well marked with the Adamello Brenta Nature Park signs, on the right of the "Cascate Nardis" refuge. Go on, alongside the Sarca river, into the conifer wood along an up and down path. Cross the river that goes down the "Siniciaga Falls" and go on along the route, almost flat, until the "Valle di Lares". From here the last part of the path (SAT no 214) leads, lightly going uphill, below the Lares Falls.
Take the route backwards until the starting point.
Public transport
Shuttle bus service only during the summer season.
By road
From Carisolo, 2 km north of Pinzolo along the S239 main road towards Madonna di Campiglio, take the road to Val Genova. Go by car or by bicycle until the Nardis Falls (or until Ponte Rosso if you choose the shortest way - about 2 hours less).
Parking
Car park (free only in the periods of low season) near the Nardis Falls or Ponte Rosso.
