Golf Club Madonna di Campiglio
In 1923, Henry Cotton — the greatest golfer of his day — designed the layout of the Golf Club Madonna di Campiglio, in Madonna di Campiglio. Since then, the course has seen various changes and improvements while leaving its original structure intact: making it one of the most historic golf courses in Italy.
At an altitude of 1,650 metres, it is one of the highest courses in Europe and is surrounded by the nature of the Adamello-Brenta Park, with a marvellous view of the Brenta Dolomites. Opening during the summer season, from June to September, means that players enjoy pleasant temperatures which never get too hot.
The course is not particularly challenging but conceals a few hidden traps: in fact, the narrow holes with numerous natural obstacles are a clear indicator of the altitude of the course, as is the grassy surface, typical of golf links of North Europe.
The practice area has 20 tees — 6 of them covered — along with a putting green, pitching green, and buggies for hire. The Club House with a bar and restaurant is located within the elegant Golf Hotel.
